If the door opens slowly or will not close fully, the first suspect is the seal inside the cylinder. A tired seal leaks air, and even with normal system pressure the cylinder never receives full force. Leave the door half open and listen at the cylinder body to hear it.
Check the air hose and union when you change the cylinder. An aged hose swells internally and chokes the flow, so a new cylinder will work just as slowly. Set the door adjustment after the cylinder is fitted.
