If the door opens slowly or sticks in the last ten centimetres, the cause is most likely the cylinder seal. Listen at the cylinder exhaust port: if air escapes continuously even with the door stationary, the seal is finished.
If the bore shows no scoring, a seal kit is enough and costs far less than a complete cylinder. If the bore is scored, a new seal will fail quickly and complete replacement is correct.
