On a Setra the wide windscreen is swept by a pantograph arm that follows the curve of the glass and spreads the pressure. When the arm spring tires, streaks are left at the extremes — changing the blade will not fix that; the arm must be replaced too.
If the wiper has slowed, grease the linkage joints first. A dry joint loads the motor, and this simple maintenance usually solves the problem before the motor actually burns out. Remember to set the park position after fitting a motor.
