MAN Bus Spare Parts Guide: Model Compatibility and Common Replacements
7 minute read · ·BAYKOÇ Technical Team

MAN is widely used in both intercity and city fleets. But there is no single category called “MAN parts”: between the city-service Lion’s City and the intercity Lion’s Coach there are substantial differences, particularly in door and body groups. Getting the right part first time depends on knowing those differences.
Model groups and the key differences
The Lion’s Coach and Lion’s Regio are intercity bodies: large luggage capacity, few doors, 2+1 or 2+2 seating. On these vehicles the most requested groups are body panels, lighting, mirrors and luggage bay locks.
The Lion’s City is a city-service body. With two or three doors and a low-floor layout, pneumatic door components and step assemblies wear out far more often. Demand for door cylinders and valves on this model runs at several times that of the others.
On the Fortuna and the older SR/SÜ series, availability itself is the main issue. OEM stock is limited for these vehicles, so aftermarket and remanufactured parts come into play.
The most requested MAN parts
- Pneumatic door cylinders and valves — the most frequently replaced group, especially on the Lion’s City.
- Headlamp assemblies and LED marker lamps.
- Mirror arms and convex wide-angle mirror glass.
- Door weatherstrips and step rubbers — these wear fast in city service.
- Shock absorbers and air-suspension dampers.
- Luggage bay locks and flush handles.
- Heater blower motors and speed resistor packs.
What to know before ordering
Part numbers are widely used on MAN vehicles and make the job far easier. If you can read the number stamped on the old part, send it to us and the match becomes certain.
If the number is illegible, the model name, production year and a photo of the part are enough. Telling us whether the vehicle is city or intercity prevents wrong shipments, particularly on door and step components.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are MAN Lion’s City and Lion’s Coach parts the same?
No. The city-service Lion’s City is low-floor and multi-door; its pneumatic door, step and body groups differ from the intercity Lion’s Coach. Always specify which body you have when ordering.
Can you supply parts for older MAN models?
OEM stock is limited for older models such as the Fortuna and SR/SÜ series, but most needs are met with aftermarket and remanufactured parts. Sending a photo of the part speeds up identification.
Can I order using a MAN part number?
Yes, and it is the fastest route. Supply the number stamped on the old part and the match is certain, eliminating the risk of a wrong part.
